Mindful Living: Be Positive

We all know we're supposed to try to be positive, but how can we do that? Here are a few tips towards cultivating a better attitude:

- Look at your resume - or make one if you don't have one. Looking at your accomplishments can help boost your self-esteem.
- Make affirmations available. Keep a list of compliments people have paid you that have meant a lot. Read it when you're down. Or keep positive quotes right on your desktop or refrigerator so you see them. Change them occasionally to keep them fresh.
- Be silly. Goof off with your kids. Laughter does wonders for your mood.
- Talk the talk. If you want to be optimistic, speak positively. Instead of saying your day is "ok," pick something out that you liked about the day and say, "It was a good day because..."
