Buying Green: Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin

As a BzzAgent, I recently got the chance to sample some products from Burt's Bees Natural Skin Solutions - Sensitive Skin collection. I've always been happy with Burt's Bees products - I love that everything is much more earth-friendly than most conventional products - plus, their baby wash is one of my favorites (I love the smell, it lathers well, it doesn't irritate my girls' eyes or skin). In general, sensitive products are even more eco-friendly, since they often have fewer ingredients/fragrances (although with Burt's Bees it's based so much on natural ingredients anyway it hardly matters).

Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin line actually uses cotton extract since it ncludes seven "oligosaccharides," or sugars, that help improve the skin barrier, reduce the appearance of skin redness, and increase the production of keratin. All products in the line are Fragrance-Free and Hypo-Allergenic, Dermatologist-Tested and Allergy-Tested, 99% natural, and easily found in mass retailers/drug stores/grocery stores/natural food stores.

The specific products contain separate, effective, natural ingredients as well. The facial cleanser contains Rice Extract to moisturize and Aloe to soothe, plus it's Non-Comedogenic (meaning it won't clog pores, a definite plus for people prone to acne). The moisturizer has White Genepi Extract, an anti-inflammatory, and tannins, which are also thought to decrease inflammation, so it helps reduce under-eye puffiness. The facial cleanser was not at all drying, but did clean effectively; and the moisturizer was non-greasy, absorbed well, and left me with soft-feeling skin.

Disclosure: I received samples of Burt's Bees sensitive facial cleanser and sensitive daily moisturizer to facilitate this review.
