Mindful Parenting: What You Need
Many of us acquire a lot of stuff over the course of a lifetime - even if we're only in our twenties. But this habit of stuff can drain us - of space, of energy, of time, and of money. Various traditions - feng shui, Zen Buddhism - speak to this. And it's true - we recently went on a purging streak, and it's unbelievable how good it feels to know your stuff is going somewhere where it will be needed, not just sitting somewhere in your house. Encourage your kids to help you go through your house, getting rid of duplicates of things you don't need, toys that don't get played with often, clothes that don't get worn, and then feel good about donating them to houses that have almost nothing.
