Mindful Parenting: Being Aware
As parents, we often need to multitask. But countless studies have shown that in most cases we're less productive. Plus, you're cheating your kids of your full attention if you're always doing something else while you're with them. Now, I'm not saying that making a phone call or checking email with them in the room is always wrong. But make sure you're taking time each day to really be with them. Plus, if you make efforts to be mindful of your day-to-day activities, you may find that even the mundane tasks suddenly take on more meaning and importance, which can help you value your own contribution to your family more. Instead of being annoyed at the mundane, be thankful for the opportunities your life brings!
