Healthy Habits: Strengthen Your Immune System

Try these tips to help keep colds and other bugs at bay - naturally.

- Amp up your diet, especially with foods rich in protein, iron, zinc, B vitamins, and omega-3s (like fish and lean protein). Eat as much produce as possible - aim for eight or nine servings - in a variety of colors.
- If you take supplements, make sure to include Vitamin D and probiotics.
- Exercise, but not too much (exercising over an hour and a half at high intensity decreases your immune system functions, but a half hour five times a week boosts them).
- Reduce stress by laughing, praying or meditating, and dancing.
