Living Green: Green Colleges

Colleges can be ranked for many things - most liberal or conservative, largest or smallest, most or least competitive, most or least stressful - and now Sierra Club has ranked colleges for their eco-friendliness. Some of the features of the schools on the Cool Schools list include promoting alternative transportation, recycling and composting, organic gardening on-campus, and clean energy use. The schools include: UC Davis, Georgia Institute of Technology, Standford, UW Seattle, UC Storrs, UNH Durham, Duke, Yale, UC Irvine, and Appalachian State University.
