Healthy Habits: Natural Pain Beaters

Did you know that there are a lot of foods that can target pain related to specific causes?

- Cherries can target arthritis and muscle pain, both whole cherries and as cherry juice.
- Ginger can help with migraines, arthritis, and sore muscles. Just add to tea, stir fry, juices, and more. It also helps ease seasickness and nausea.
- Cranberry juice can help ease ulcers - as long as its the 100% natural kind (not sweetened).
- Fish high in omega three (salmon, herring, sardines) can help with aches in your back, neck, or joints.
- Turmeric is a little-used curry spice that, when cooked with black pepper, eases achy joints and helps relieve colitis.
- Yogurt is a great digestive aid that helps keep a balance of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract and also helps with IBS symptoms.
- Coffee can help with headaches, but caution is needed. Caffeine can be a migraine trigger for certain people, and getting too dependent on coffee can cause withdrawal headaches. So it will only work to help relieve headaches when used occasionally.
