I just joined our nearest co-op, Mississippi Market. I loved it. It was my highest single grocery bill ever - $144 and change - but it included the $90 one-time fee to become a member, which leads to a lot of savings and will pay for itself within about 3-4 months, I think, the way I shop. I also shopped at Whole Foods Market for the first time last week.
It's going to take some adjustment in my budget and thinking. I was spending about $50/week for our family, sometimes less, including toiletries and cleaning supplies. I know it's going to go up substantially, but I also think we'll be eating a lot healthier, so I'm looking forward to the journey!
